New entry-level CR-V

Vehicle Fitout

Honda has added an entry-model 2WD version of the CR-V to its New Zealand line-up, bolstering its reach into the ever-growing SUV market.

The new Honda CR-V 2.0 S comes in as a high spec model for an entry level price, and carries similar features to its more-expensive 4WD brethren, including enhanced technology, handling and design.

This includes a Lanewatch camera, front and rear parking sensors, three-angle reversing camera with dynamic parking aid, emergency stop signal, intelligent auto wipers and auto headlights, intelligent auto dimming rear view mirror, smart proximity key with push button start, and a new seven-inch touch screen display audio system.

On the outside it gets roof rails, integrated LED daytime running lights, front fog lights, sporty new bumpers with lower skid plate garnish, a Honda "Wing" sports mesh front grille, and 17 inch alloy wheels

The interior features a new centre console design, with increased chrome detailing, a larger touch screen, new seat design, and new fabric and stitching,

As with other CR-V models the 2.0 S has a five-star ANCAP safety rating, with six airbags.

Engine is a 114kW/190Nm i-Vtec petrol engine, coupled to a five-speed automatic gearbox with gear and grade logic control, plus steering wheel paddles for manual shifting when required, and has a hill start assistance system.

It retains the 1,500kg braked towing capacity of the 4WD models, but offers the lowest fuel consumption in the range at 7.7L/100km/179g/km.

Comfort features include Bluetooth telephony and music streaming, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, speed sensitive volume control, and a multi-information display with instant fuel, range, and average fuel consumption.

Dual zone air conditioning is standard and the leather-rimmed steering wheel is adjustable for reach and tilt.

Access is via a smart proximity key with push-button starting, and the vehicle gets heat-absorbing privacy glass. The driver’s seat is four-way manually adjustable.

The CR-V comes with 60/40 split rear seats for increased versatility, and boot space with all seats in place is 556 litres.

The new 2.0 S is available in the full spectrum of CR-V colours.
