Tanks for the new SUV, GWM

New models

Following the launch of the GWM Tank 300 hybrid, GWM New Zealand has extended the up to include the GWM Tank 300 petrol. This addition provides Kiwi new car buyers with an additional powertrain option to suit their individual needs.

Just like its hybrid sibling, the new GWM Tank 300 petrol comes to the New Zealand market with a rugged design, a refined, tech-laden interior, tough off-road capability, dependable safety and outstanding value.

The key differences between the GWM Tank 300 Hybrid and Petrol models is the petrol variant having a 150kg lighter kerb weight, and power being delivered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 162kW of power and 380Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

With power also fed through a part-time 4WD system, the Tank 300 petrol is at home on-road as it is off it. Braked towing capacity for petrol models matches that of the Tank 300 Hybrid at 2500kg.

Available in the Lux and Ultra grade, the petrol specs are very similar to the existing hybrid with minor feature differences between the two powertrains:
