Subaru BRZ goes STI

Subaru has shown a way-out concept based on its two-seater BRZ coupe, and it may well be the second string to its bow as far as creating the STI as a sub-brand.

Subaru says the STI Performance Concept is the ultimate road-going version of the BRZ, and it comes tricked-out with wider racy bodywork which includes flared wheel arches and a large rear wing, plus new side skirts and extra cooling.

No official details on the two-litre engine apart from an output of 224kW/447Nm, which is significantly more than the standard car’s 147kW, and hints at turbo-charging.

The “concept” also has suspension and brakes upgrades taken from the BRZ GT300 racing car.
